Welcome to Ceramics!
All About Food
I made 1 plate, a small chip holder, and a drink. It was fine, but since I didn't have more time it was rushed. I'm glad I got it done before graduating.
Mask:Japanese Mask
I didn't take many progress photos, because when I worked it was a small brain moment and I just focused on the project. The mask is based on the dramatical theatre Japan has.
Tea For Two: a peice of floral delicacy
So far it's going good minus the dry hands and kittens begging to help. I honestly hated it since I didn't have a lot of clay to work with so I couldn't make it big nor can I use it as an actual tea cup. Though the colors I used made it pop out more than my last projects since I used orange for the coasters and dull purple with a cyan inside for the cups.
Slab: THe Shed
I used about four slabs and four slabs that I rolled up for the roof. I used a rolling pin to flatten and a popsicle stick to smooth and cut. The clay I use is so smooth and easy to use so I'll be getting more, but I can't make anything huge so that's why most of the projects will be small scale.
Coil Pot: Coin Collector
The coil pot was honestly fun and easy to make. I started with a flat bottom and worked my way up rolling each piece until I got a long enough strand for each layer. I used acrylic paint with a metallic coat of gold to get a shiny coat on the pastel yellow I used.
Pinch Pot: Monster Mouth
I actually like how this came out and I'm glad I found the paint to make it look like this. Since I'm not in school I don't have access to glaze, regular clay, or a kiln. I used oven bake clay and acrylic paint, to set the paint and make it shine I used mod podge.
