Welcome to Art 3!
Folklore:Scorned women
I love this project and the women I chose. The markers I used are a 100 pack of Ohuhu alcohol markers. I honestly got sick from using them from so long, but I got through it. I have 5 women 2 from Japanese culture, 1 from Venezuela, and 2 from European culture.
Social issue: Anxiety
I didn't take any progress photos because when I was working it slipped my mind, though i can say this is my favorite painting I've made. This painting took over 24 hours, 4 hours a day, and it took a little over a week. Folding for the eisle was kind of difficult and the gesso stank so bad.
culture Appreciation: African tribal mask
I'm trying to figure out how to get the mask to work since I need a face to work with for. I'll probably be buying a styrofoam head to help. I used wire to help support the nose and I put 2 holes on each side to put ribbon or string through so the mask will sit on the face without being held.
Fauvism Portrait
Honestly, not my best work, I don't like pastels that much so this wasn't really my favorite project to do.
Georgia O'Keeffe: Little Among Us Figure
Georgia O'Keeffe was known for her abstract drawings and the paintings of New York skyscrapers. For this project we used a 18" x 24" inch paper, our medium was charcoal and we were to draw an object and magnify it. I used a little among us figure I made a few months ago as my object.
Sketchbook: New & Improved
During the time I took art 3-4 we made a sketchbook doing japanese book-binding and I had the sketchbook laying around and thought, "wow! that doesn't look good." So instead of just wasting it I tore out the old thread and started new adding a little floral cloth to the front to give it some pizazz to it and give it new life. I enjoyed redoing it as it didn't really look great the first time. The binding I used this time blended into the sketchbook so I tied ombre yarn around the sketchbook to give it some color.
Mask Making
My mask is small and can most likely fit children since I cut the fabric smaller than meant. It was still nice looking though it didn't turn out correctly I'm glad that it's done and my fingers won't be poked by the needle anymore. I used yellow thread so it wouldn't show to much against the fabric and used ribbons for the ties.
